“PK” Series
The “PK” Series Precision Planetary unit is a combination of the “P” Series gearhead and reduced backlash “K” Series SMS helical/bevel gear drive. The ground helical gear input and the ground spiral bevel gearset ensures the units have extremely low backlash (<5 arc minutes) and are extremely quiet running.
- Ring gear machined integral to the housing, not welded or pressed in, provides greater concentricity and eliminates speed fluctuation
- Ductile iron housing dissipates heat, dampens noise, and provides greater lubrication retention on the ring gear.
- Planet carrier straddle mounted for robust output capacity
- Bearing options for application specific radial load, axial load, and tilting moment.
- FKM seals for the smallest possible diameter, reducing friction and heat build-up, increasing efficiency, and allowing continuous duty without additional cooling
- The patented motor coupling is designed to allow thermal expansion of the motor shaft — ensuring long motor life by preventing thrust load on the motor bearings
- The motor shaft adapter system allows installation of the motor in minutes — no special tools required. Adapter bushings provided to fit all motor shafts — no key required.
Readily attaches to any servo motor. A wide selection of IEC and NEMA motor plates are stock. (Maximum 10 working days for custom motor plates.)
